About event

Dear friends!

We are postponing the deadline for accepting entries in the Special nomination “Wildlife of Moscow”. Entries are now accepted until September 10, 2022.

You can apply for participation during August by sending an application to the mail contest@wnfest.ru

International wildlife festival “Golden Turtle” continues accepting entries in the special nomination “Wildlife of Moscow”. An expert jury will select 10 photographs that can be seen in the New Tretyakov Gallery (exhibition halls of the Union of Artists of Russia) from October 15 to November 20 this year. The photos of the finalists will be exhibited in a separate hall “Biodiversity of Moscow”, and the winners of the competition will receive commemorative prizes and certificates.

The competition is organized jointly with the city Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection and GPBU “Mospriroda”. Photo works are accepted from 1 to 31 August. The exhibition will be held from October 15 to November 20.

“The Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection always supports events that enable people who are passionate about the ideas of ecology to find like-minded people, is ready to give them a platform where they can draw attention to problems that leave no one indifferent at a high level. Ecology is multifaceted, closely related to creativity. Photography is one of the areas where citizens of any age can express themselves brightly. This is a good way to draw attention to endangered species of plants and animals so that people are more careful about the environment,” noted Anton Kulbachevsky, head of the department.

Wild animals live far from residential areas and highways of the capital — in specially protected areas. To take a rare shot with foxes, martens, roe deer or other wildlife, photographers have to work hard. For filming, for example, they install special camera traps. This is how you manage to capture animals, including those listed in the Red Book of Moscow.

Golden Turtle International Wildlife Festival — a large-scale environmental and educational project that promotes the idea of preserving nature through art. The central event of the festival is traditionally the exposition of the works of the finalists and laureates of the international photo contest.
