There are ratings of regions in terms of sustainable development indicators, including those assigned by ACRA. In particular, we compile the so-called environmental ratings. It is worth mentioning that Moscow ranks first among the regions in terms of efforts to take care of the environment. The other leaders of the rating are the Nizhny Novgorod and Lipetsk Regions, and to a much lesser extent, St. Petersburg.
It is important to note that the so-called environmental component, the environmental problems of a particular region depend very little on the region’s leaders. The main factor here is the presence of large facilities that pollute the environment. As for the quality of state administration in one sphere or another, including ecology, it is rather problematic to measure it qualitatively.
