Large Russian companies can safely compete with European and American companies in terms of sustainability. Russian companies have accumulated a lot of practice in this area since Soviet times. We have relatively strict legislation both in the labour sphere and in terms of environmental regulation.
Most large companies are already actively involved in sustainable development. In fact, this process has been underway in Russia for a long time now, and it cannot be stopped.
The main goal of any business remains making a profit as a result of its activities. But this main goal does not contradict the implementation of social issues and care for the environment. I wouldn’t put these things at odds with each other. And we see that in fact, companies that invest in social issues and environmental protection end up working more sustainably than those that don’t pay enough attention to these issues.
Now the implementation of various projects that started at the end of last year and the beginning of this year is being delayed. Obviously, this is a natural, forced situation. And it is a temporary situation.
