The concept of sustainable development can be thought of as a matryoshka doll, which should be based on a green economy. There are quite a few types and kinds of green economy. In terms of climate, it is a low-carbon economy, while the bioeconomy is based on the use of ecosystem services and natural resources.
Another important type of green economy is the circular economy. There is also a rather exotic type, the blue economy. It is the economy of the seas, oceans and coastal areas. For Russia, the “blue economy” is associated with solving a set of issues related to the balanced development of the Arctic, the Far East, as well as mining, transport infrastructure, and fishing.
Mixes between different types of economies are also gradually forming, such as a closed-loop bioeconomy.
