I treat conscious consumption and production as a vocation — it has been my job for many years. And I see the benefits of many of the projects I am involved in, both for society and business.

The important thing is that we understand that one business is not a warrior in the field. One company will not be able to implement conscious consumption and production everywhere. We need the efforts of other companies and consumers, and the efforts of a wide range of stakeholders, including the media.

It is also important for the government to be involved in this process. In addition, it is very important to develop the non-profit sector, rather the professional non-profit sector, which will help solve the problems of sustainable development together with the companies.

A few years ago, sustainability in Russia was understood only through the prism of charity or at best CSR, and often companies lacked a professional non-profit partner to realise their objectives. Non-profit organisations have even more resources for entry and influence than international corporations. And it seems to me that the development of non-profit organisations in the field of sustainable development is such a separate task in which the state can also be involved.
