It is often asked whether a carbon tax will have a negative impact on business. If this tax is based on a fiscal-neutral principle, there will be no increase in the tax burden on business. The state has the opportunity to offset these costs by reducing the profit tax, by increasing wages, by social charges.

In addition, there is the possibility of zeroing out the carbon tax rate when it reaches certain thresholds. Many critics start to deny everything, acting on the principle of “haven’t read Solzhenitsyn, but I disagree”. But first we must read and study global experience and then speak.

In Sweden, for example, the introduction of a carbon tax stimulated the use of biomass for heating. Large volumes of waste from logging companies are being burnt in boiler houses. In addition, the introduction of low-carbon, energy-efficient, renewable energy technologies reduces the tax burden.
