At the end of 2021, Roskatchestvo together with the League of Green Brands began to develop a national green standard. For the time being, its first version has been submitted for public hearings, which will last until October 1. And on September 20 an extended meeting of the working group of the Green Brand League and Roskachevo will be held to discuss the standard and the prospects for its development.
The methodology of the Green Brand League was developed together with its permanent intellectual partner, the analytical company Business Solutions and Technologies, specifically for the Russian market, taking into account the feedback from industry representatives and experts.
This is a brand and/or company sustainability assessment system, which is a questionnaire consisting of two sets of criteria on various aspects, the answers to which are evaluated by scores. The results are used by companies and other stakeholders to assess and diagnose the achievement of sustainability goals, including by industry. Sustainability is assessed as a company’s product or corporate brand.
The methodology forms the basis for the Green Brand League ranking — the first ranking of sustainable companies came out in 2021 as part of the annual RBC500 rating. It is the result of evaluating companies and brands on key material aspects compared to the industry average.
The League’s ranking is, firstly, an open tool for self-assessment, for understanding the position of a company or brand in the market, and, secondly, a preparatory stage for certification and obtaining state support in the future.
In 2022, the League’s ranking will allow SMEs to participate — a methodology for assessing the level of sustainable development has been developed specifically for them. In the future, this will ensure that the topic of sustainability is integrated into the supply chain in a cross-cutting manner.
