“Standard for assessing the sustainability of business in Russia can appear within two years”

It is still difficult to say exactly who in Russia plans to issue a standard for assessing the sustainability of businesses. It is being developed by different agencies and at different venues.

Combining the SDGs with national projects could lead to a common methodology for creating reports that could be used by Russian companies in their corporate practices. We anticipate that a methodology for creating a sustainability standard will emerge in 2023–2024. It will be based both on Russian national criteria (they have already been announced) and international practice. And the standard itself will most likely appear after 2024.
