“Businesses have to ’build muscle’ to be sustainable”

To answer the question of what prevents a business from being sustainable, you need to imagine that sustainability. If you have ever stood on a balancer, you know that it is an unstable state. You have to constantly be in tension and control your body to keep your balance. So stability is not something stable (stand up and relax). No, it’s a constant focus. For businesses, it’s about paying attention to your business, being able to withstand changing external conditions and ’not falling off’. That’s why companies that have once embarked on this journey have to “build muscle” and develop skills of rapid adaptation, strategic planning. It is important for them to understand how they themselves can influence and minimise external risks. Only this will allow them not just to stay in place longer, but to move forward.
