Electric cars with Russian lithium-ion batteries launched in Kubinka

In Kubinka near Moscow, electric cars with lithium-ion batteries produced by the Russian company Renera, which is part of the state corporation Rosatom, were launched. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the enterprise.

According to the manufacturer, the battery with a capacity of 28 kilowatt-hours provides a range of up to 100 kilometers without recharging. Batteries are charged from a conventional 220 volt power supply in 6-10 hours, depending on the remaining energy level.

“The eco-friendly battery allows the electric car to move in near silent mode, preserving the sounds of birds singing and the rustling of trees in parks. The absence of emissions of harmful substances and gas pollution contributes to the preservation of the environment,” the state corporation noted.

Six electric vehicles with a total capacity of about 50 people will operate in the Kubinka museum and park complex, transporting visitors along sightseeing and tourist routes. They will facilitate visits to guests who find it difficult to move around on their own.

According to Alexander Kamashev, General Director of LLC Renera, the company is ready to equip electric cars for other green areas with batteries of its own production. He added that walking electric transport in parks, nature reserves and reserves has ceased to be an innovation and has become an integral function of the full-fledged operation of such facilities.

Environmentally friendly electric transport is becoming more and more popular both in everyday life and on tourist routes. River tourism is no exception. Since 2020, St. Petersburg has switched to electric river transport: now environmentally friendly river boats carry tourists from the Morskoy Facade port to the main famous places of the northern capital.

Electric boats are used all over the world. Recently, they began to produce such ships in Russia: at the Neva-2019 exhibition, the first all-electric domestically produced vessel Ecovolt was presented. The invention was nicknamed “Tesla on the water”.

Ecovolt is a modern two-deck electric catamaran with 25 kW electric motors. Ecovolt is capable of speeds up to 7.5 knots. The batteries are located in the floats of the vessel, and their full charge is enough for 10 hours of uninterrupted operation.

These vessels were built by Morsvyazavtomatika (MSA) on its own initiative and without attracting additional investments. Previously, the company produced equipment for shipbuilding, ship electronics like the SGG-6m combustible gas detector. In fact, the developers had everything they needed to design an electric boat and introduce it to the river pleasure transport market.
